Whatever It Takes!

The Johnny Mac Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed by John’s wife, Jennifer after his death in August 2009 of 9/11 related cancer. John was an FDNY Firefighter and caring for others was what he did. In a list of final wishes, John asked to have a community center built in Blue Point, NY. In accord with John’s motto “whatever it takes,” the Foundation now works tirelessly to fulfill that wish. In addition, the Foundation supports other 9/11 first responder organizations. John’s last wishes were written down and electronically scanned.

The Johnny Mac Foundation was proud to spend an evening at The Paramount in Huntington last night, supporting our friends at Brotherhood for the Fallen Suffolk County.

Founder and President Jennifer McNamara and members of the Foundation board joined local first responders and supporters for a night dedicated to honoring the fallen and standing with those left behind.

Brotherhood for the Fallen is a vital organization that sends uniformed officers to attend the funerals of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty across North America, providing comfort and financial support to their families. Their mission of presence and care deeply resonates with FDNY Firefighter John F. McNamara’s own philosophy of caring for others and the “Whatever it takes” spirit of our Foundation.

Supporting organizations like the Brotherhood for the Fallen is a core part of our mission to care for the first responder community. We are grateful for the work they do and honored to have been a part of such a meaningful evening.
